A Chinese Light Celadon Bowl - Ming/Qing
December 2012 Auction by Far East Asian Art

This is a Chinese celadon bowl with a very pale - almost white - celadon colot. The bowl might have been a kiln mistake as it is slightly out of round and not the top of the bowl is slanted and wavy. It might have been deliberate - but that would be more in the modern studio ceramics tradition.

The bowl measures 5" diameter at the top - is 1 5/8" diameter at base and is 4" deep. It has a blue mark in cobalt blue - the traditional Fuku mark meaning Good Luck or Fortune...
