Hirado Ewer of Fukurukuju - Meiji
December 2012 Auction by Far East Asian Art
19th Century Japanese Hirado fine porcelain figural ewer, modeled with a representation of the Household Deity, Fukurukuju the god of Longevity. Fukurukuju is shown smiling with his little teeth bared in a smile and holding onto a sack. Condition of the piece is very good with no damage. It probably had a small simple cover which set down into the Ewer, but this cover is now missing. There are a few tiny 'in the making' kiln firing cracks, see photo...
