This is a striking Kutani dish, which we believe was made by Tokuda Yasokichi I (1874 - 1956). The dish measures 6 ¾” diameter and is ½” deep. It is decorated in the classic Kutani overglaze colors of aubergine, yellow, green and blue. The design is classically simple in the wabi style much admired by the Japanese – a sparse landscape scene that is on the outer edges of the top of the dish of rugged mountains and a flock of birds overhead...
