A Handsome Geyao Glaze Bulbous Vase – late Qing

This fine vase has the fine small crackle glaze that dates back to the Song dynasty. It is covered all over with tiny crackle finish in a light grey color. Just under the rim there is a light pool of faint celadon colored glaze. The vase was clearly made in two pieces – a top and a bottom half and then luted together at the waist. You can see the ridge where the two halves were joined – and you can feel the joint with your fingers inside the vase...
