A Large Rice Bowl - Tek Sing Cargo–1750s–1822
December 2012 Auction by Far East Asian Art

This is a handsome large rice bowl that was retrieved from the Tek Sing Cargo – see footnote - in 1999. The Tek Seng had sunk in 1822, so we can be sure that this piece dates from sometime during the period of the mid 1700s to 1822, Qing Dynasty. The bowl measures 6 ½” diameter at the top and is 3 “high - the foot measures 3 ½” diameter. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips – one small brown iron dot kiln flaw can be seen in the bottom of the inside of the bowl...
