A Korean Joseon Dynasty Globe Shaped Jar

This is a striking globular shaped Korean jar dating from the 18th/19th century. It was clearly made in two pieces - top and bottom - that were then luted together. The glaze is a soft grey in color and it has loosely drawn designs of lovely blue flowers and leaves painted on both sides of the jar. The jar measures 4 1/4" high by 5 1/8" diameter at the waist. The top opening is 2 7/8" diameter and the base of the low foot is 2 1/4" diameter.

The top rim of the jar is unglazed...
