August 2017 Auction by Far East Asian Art
An unusual and rare plate of porcelain with Imari decoration in the form of a stylized Takarabune (center), textile patterns, and rondelles with horse rider and phoenix. Around the center is a band of characters representing the twelve earthly branches and the ten heavenly stems of the East Asian calendrical system. Kiln mark in the bottom. Late Edo–early Meiji, ca. 1850–1875. Very good condition with slight traces of wear.
