A small and highly attractive square, bottle-shaped vase of stoneware decorated on two sides with a loosely rendered floral motif and sides in a palette consisting of underglaze red, blue and a blue-mottled brown glazes. Made by KAWAI Buichi (1908–1989), a leading disciple and nephew of the celebrated KAWAI KANJIRO. Signed storage box (kiri tomobako). H 15,5 cm, W 10 cm, Deep 6 cm.
