A Chinese pottery Han Dynasty green glazed squat baluster jar with short neck and flared rim – a shape known as a Hu. The jar is decorated with two raised circles at the shoulder and the waist. The glaze is still moderately shiny despite centuries of burial. The jar measures 5 7/8" high by 5" diameter - the base has the classic pattern of a pot that has been cut from the potting wheel by a string. Excellent condition with a few minor nicks...
