A Ming Celadon Deep Dish with Embossed Design
December 2012 Auction by Far East Asian Art
This is a fine Ming dynasty celadon deep dish with a well executed impressed design of a small boy with flowers. The celadon is a particularly pretty blue/green color. We date it to the mid to late Ming dynasty, circa 1450s – 1500s. The piece measures 4 3/8” diameter and is 2 ¾” deep. It is in very good condition with one small chip on the rim – see photo – and normal usage light scratches in the bottom of the bowl. One tiny firing bubble of brown grit in the interior.
