Pottery Suiteki (Waterdropper) - Blowfish

Blowfish Suiteki - late Edo to early Meiji. Small, fish-shaped suiteki or water dropper is hand made and rough in design - we think the fish is a blowfish. The suiteki were used to dampen the ink cake used by scholars in preparing the ink for calligraphic work. It appears to be some type of early studio pottery and measures 3" long, 2" high and 1.75" wide...
