Late Qing Olive Green Sauce Dish
April 2014 Auction by Far East Asian Art
An interesting hexagonal shape Chinese pottery sauce dish with an olive green glaze on the top and partially on the sides - base unglazed. There is a design of an archaic chilong (immature dragon) in the center of the dish and the sides are decorated with low relief stylized waves. A firing hairline in one edge that is about 3/8" long and a piece of kiln grit adheres to the base. Measures 3" diameter and is 1/2" deep. Dates to the mid 19th century - Qing period.
