This is one of the most unusual Japanese ceramic pieces we have ever had in the collection or seen anywhere else. It is a porcelain piece shaped in the form of a pulley wheel for a well. The body is bluish white and the sides and handles are decorated in overglaze enamel in a profusion of multi-colored spider chrysanthemums.
