A Pair of Triangular Japanese Oribe Ware Mukozuke
March 2013 Auction by Far East Asian Art
This is a nicely executed pair of matching mirror image Oribe Ware Mukozuke. They are in the traditional Oribe colors of pale tan crackle glaze with areas of thick dark green/blue overglaze enamel. In the corners of the triangle is an iron brown spray of plant shoots. The bowls measure 7” wide by 5” long bt 2” deep and are in excellent condition. We date them to the Meiji period, circa 1880-1910...
