A Pair of Arita Tea Bowls - Chawan – Edo

This is a lovely pair of thin walled chawan – tea cups – from the Arita kilns. Each of the two cups has a fine relief design on the inside walls. The designs appear to be fans and bows – hard to photograph with clarity. In the bottom of the cups is a dark cobalt blue design that we cannot make out – there do appear to be some elongated scales so it could be a curled dragon...
