A Soft Celadon Chinese Bowl - 17th/18th Cty. - Qing
October 2013 Auction by Far East Asian Art

This is a simple but lovely celadon bowl with a lightly crackled glaze that is almost matte. The base and bottom rim of the foot are unglazed with the natural tan of the clay showing through. It is a circular bowl but is slightly out of round and a tiny bit lopsided. This could indicate a rural pottery.

The bowl is in very good condition with one 3/16" rim chip and a slight bump in the glaze on the other side of the top rim...
