A very unusual and rare Bizen-ware Nyoi-Scepter ( Chinese : Ruyi = As you Wish ), in the shape of a stylized “Lingzhi†mushroom. The Nyoi scepter is a symbol of the authority, to be used by Zen Masters or Abbots during lectures or religious ceremonies. It comes with an unsigned lacquered wood box. L. 40 cm. Edo Period. Condition: very good.
